As part of the pandemic response every public school in California was tasked with preparing a Learning Continuity & Attendance Plan to address teaching and learning, safety concerns, and resources for all students and families during the pandemic. All districts were required to submit their Learning Continuity & Attendance Template, but with some districts, it took multiple efforts to receive approval. Ours was accepted out of the gate.
Our student-centered approach at Ivy means we are prepared to serve our students' best interests, always. We’re supporting emotional health and well-being and addressing nutrition and food scarcity issues, too. More than just addressing issues like these -- we go the extra mile. One example of this is our emergency preparation.
Emergency management training has been a passion of ours for years. Every day we track the local and state Department of Health updates. Additionally, we monitor legislative and executive proposals and actions, Governor Newsom’s releases, FEMA, CalEMA, the New York Times Covid Report and all California Department of Education reports and webinars.
This commitment to monitor reputable sources daily, allows us to ensure a rigorous Distance Learning program while we prepare for the reopening of the campus with student safety as our top priority.
Ivy administration has hundreds of hours of training in emergency management. Living in LA county -- we can never be too prepared, can we? Ivy Academia is more than ready to address pandemic and other emergency protocols on our new Woodland Hills campus.
We are also ready to address emergencies such as weather, earthquakes, fires, political and cultural upheavals, and pandemics... We work closely with policy makers and emergency responders to ensure we are ready to take on any emergency with well-organized plans, trained staff, and a commitment to be ready for anything that comes our way.
Our physical school building is well-served by our operations and facilities personnel. Our classrooms are set up for safe distancing. We have plexiglass, separated seats, and sanitization stations. Our campus has a natural egress system which makes drop off and pick up efficient and safe -- especially with our staggered starts and pickup times.
Our vision is that Ivy Academia will provide a world class standards-based education and our mission states that Ivy Academia students learn in a rigorous academic setting that incorporates 21st Century entrepreneurial skills for success in college, career, and beyond.
On our web site we actively maintain and update resources for the school community and stakeholders. We share the latest Covid updates, information about our school meal program distribution, hot spots, and Chromebooks / iPads.
Our focus on serving our students first and foremost -- is something we strive for at all times, whether in distance learning, hybrid, or fully on ground, we are ready. If an emergency arises in the future once our brand new innovative campus is open, we will hit the ground with our prepared approach, top-notch academics, and strong community support.
We cannot wait to get back into the classrooms with all of you. When it is safe to do so -- we will be there, waiting for you and ready for anything and everything.
