Dress Code

Ivy Academia is an entrepreneurial school with a professional dress code. If financial concerns preclude the purchase of dress code attire, please discuss with administration so that arrangements can be made to assist with this tradition.

Each student is a representative of Ivy Academia in the eyes of the public. Each student must report to school properly groomed and wearing appropriate clothing. Students are expected to dress neatly in a manner consistent with the activities for the day (i.e. designated formal days, Puma Pride Fridays, Physical Education, etc.). Students TK-12 wear formal attire on designated days throughout the month and when there are special events. Students who report to school inappropriately dressed will be asked to have acceptable attire brought to them or to change into appropriate attire in the office and will be subject to disciplinary action.

Dress code clothes may be found at any department store including but not limited to Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, JCPenney, Children’s Place, Dennis, or online. Clothing should not look provocative. No bare midriffs, no ripped or shredded clothing and undergarments must not be visible. Clothing should have no suggestive or vulgar messages, and no messages or references to tobacco, drugs, alcohol or anything not school appropriate printed on them.

Head coverings, including hats of any kind, except those worn for religious or safety reasons, must be plain colored or have an Ivy Academia logo and are not to be worn indoors at any time. Any item found to be in violation of this policy will be confiscated by administration and must be picked up by a parent or guardian from the main office or will be returned at the end of the school year or upon disenrollment.

Daily Wear Navy, black, light blue or white collared shirt, long or short sleeved. Black, navy or khaki well-fitting – not excessively loose or tight, no jeans or leggings. Shoes must be closed toe and closed back with heels under 2”.

Formal and Event Wear: Tucked in white or blue oxford style dress shirt (long or short sleeved), any school appropriate tie or bow tie, navy, or black professional bottoms (well-fitting – not excessively loose or tight, no jeans, cargo pants, jeggings, leggings, or skinny pants on formal days).

Gently Used Clothing: Used clothing in good condition may be donated to other students or dropped off at the main office and may be requested from the main office at any time. Used clothing sales will be held on campus intermittently throughout the school year. These dates are advertised by Site Administration in advance.

Outerwear: All outerwear (crewneck sweatshirts, sweaters, vests, cardigans, blazers, etc.) must be navy blue, gray or black with no graphic printing and minimal logos (no alcohol, cigarette, weaponry, offensive, drug or sexual references or imagery). Ivy Academia spirit outerwear in any color is acceptable. Only Ivy Academia branded hoodies will be allowed on campus and hoods may only be worn outside when it is raining. Umbrella’s will be permitted, and appropriate storage will be provided for them on rainy days.

Puma Pride Day (Weekly on Friday): Any Puma Pride shirt/sweatshirt (sold throughout the year intermittently). Dress code bottoms must be worn with Puma Pride tops. Denim jeans are only permitted by Site Administration on specified Spirit or Field days.

PE Clothes (Students TK-12): Elementary students will not change for PE. Middle and High School students will be required to dress in school appropriate athletic attire (no alcohol, cigarette, weaponry, offensive, drug or sexual references or imagery) for their P.E. period as directed by their P.E. teacher. Examples include lightweight short sleeved shirts, appropriate length shorts and athletic shoes.
